DIY Dream

Have you ever wanted cute invitations, party accessories and/or games for an event without breaking the bank? Our DIY printable options are easy, quick and affordable.

We offer the printable JPG and PDF file options for those who are on a budget, those who are on a tight timeline, or for those who aren't in the United States (Unfortunately, we don't ship invitations outside of the U.S. at this time).

If you're not sure what file to get, here's a quick breakdown to help you decide what you want:

» PDF «

  • PDF's are the best option if you plan on printing on pre-cut card stock (sizes A7 or 8.5" x 11" with two A7 invites to a page).
  • PDF's are best if printing from home or through a print shop like FedEx, Office Depot, Staples, etc.

*Most professional online printing companies will require PDF files. More on that in a little bit.

» JPG «

  • I only recommend using a JPG file when printing if you are planning to print through a local photo shop like Walgreens, Wal-Mart, Costco, etc.
  • Keep in mind that most photo papers do not allow you to print double-sided
  • This is the most budget-friendly printing option

                                               » ONLINE PRINTER «

When ordering from our shop, if you're planning to print through a different online printing company, please let us know which printer you're planning to use and what their bleed requirements are so that we make sure your printables are formatted correctly. Not doing so can result in important parts of your design getting cut off.

It's very important to make sure your online printer has a 5" x 7" size option before you order. There is only one online printer that I've run into so far that doesn't follow industry standard sizes - and that company is Vista Print.

I highly recommend using any other company than Vista Print. These are the specs for their "5x7" size:
Full Bleed Size
7.28" x 4.72"
185 x 120 mm
2185 x 1417 pixels

Document Trim Size
7.17" x 4.61" 182 x 117 mm
2150 x 1382 pixels

All of my designs can be printed as a standard 5" x 7" size.  If you were to print through Vista Print, it wouldn't print correctly, and parts of the design would look stretched, or worse: get cut off during the printing process. The sizes/specs that Vista Print uses are not industry standard and must be only for their equipment on site. Again, they're the only online printer I've run into that has weird sizes and printing requirements.

Other companies I would recommend instead of Vista Print are Zazzle or StationeryHQ. However, if you did have your heart set on printing through Vista Print, we can alter our design sizes for an additional fee. Please email me {gdesignbybecky@gmail.com} or send me an Etsy message if you have any further questions.

I hope that clears the air on this topic, I know a lot of customers have been hesitant regarding the printable files, but I promise, it really is quick, easy and budget-friendly! Or.. if you're really not one to do DIY printables, we'd be happy to print and ship your invitations to you.

Our current turn-around for a first proof to be emailed to you is 2 business days (Monday-Friday), and print-ready files are usually emailed within 1 business day from the time you approve your proof. Our printing turn-around time is 1-3 business days (M-F) and we then ship via USPS 2-3 Day Priority Mail.

So if you're on the fence about placing an order, I'd be happy to answer any other questions you may have, or if you need an extra incentive, here's a coupon code for 10% off your next order: MAR2017 offer expires on Mar. 31st, 2017
